Girls Generation - We are Artist not Idols

Girls' Generation Nyeo Shi Dae in Korea or SNSD for short revealed their dilemma in determining where they stood as musicians.

Too much expectation over idols. Back then, someone who sings is a singer. Someone who composes a song is a composer. Someone who writes lyrics is a lyricists. Someone who dances is a dancer. Now for idols. People want them to be a composer, singer, lyricist and dancer to be respected. Honestly, in my country, these idols will be grouped in artist category, because there is no such thing as idol.

Anyway, recently on a show program, the staff asked them whether they were an artist or an idol. Girls' Generation debuted at an early age and reached fame quite quickly in both Korea and Japan as well as the world.

Jessica commented, "It is an honor to be called an idol group. However, now it seems that everyone who is young is an idol group." 
Sooyoung commented, "Honestly, we want to be called an artist."  
Yuri added, "It is hard for us to state which one we are. What our fans and the public calls us is what we will be."

Ah, well. Too bad for them the category "idols" exist in their country. It may not make much difference to us but that's just how their industry work. I think a much more valid description for them is that an idol is someone who caters the much younger audience and thus looks up to them [hence, the term idol] while artists are those who had 'experience' and caters those more mature fans.

Being an idol doesn't mean you are untalented, there are lots of genuinely talented idols. I'm aware of the negative connotation the term carries in Korea, so maybe what she meant is that she'd like to be called something else. But I think "artist" is going a bit too far because in Korea, they use that term when someone has complete control over their music. I think so too even when it comes to G Dragon. But then again, I call very few people artists.

Kitahara Rie of AKB48 to Appear in Kazoku Game Drama

Kitahara Rie will be on the drama, "KAZOKU GAME", which will be broadcast from April 17 2013.
It's her first time after a long time being in a drama series, so She is really happy.
This will be a big step in her dream of becoming an actress.
She is still a beginner in this field, but she will do her very best.

Rie Kitahara, who will appear in a Fuji TV drama for the first time ever, stated excitedly, “The story is exciting and strong and I will approach the role as an actress rather than an idol.” Although AKB48 forbids romantic relationships, there will be sweet scenes as her character and Kamiki’s character will be dating in the drama.

Nirooni (AKB48’s Yokoyama Yui), Kitarie (Kitahara Rie) and Sasshi (HKT48’s Sashihara Rino) listened to a song called the 9th of March by Remioromen. Kitarie revealed that Takamina (AKB48’s Takahashi Minami) thought the song was called the 10th of March and then the three started to recite the lyrics of the song in unison on G+ - and in the middle of doing so they changed it to another Remioromen song, Konayuki. At the end Nirooni thanked fans for “listening” to their performance.

Kitahara Rie is a member of AKB48's 'Team B', formerly from 'Team A'. She was promoted to 'Team A' on July 30, 2008 after 4 months of training as an AKB48 SEED. She is also a member of Not yet.

KPop Idols Pick HyunA as Number 1 World Idol

HyunA was able to grab #1 as one of the best 7 ‘World Idols to Become the Next Psy’. Do you guys know that Krystal rank officialy first as the most popular korean celebrity? Although I am a fan of Hyuna, I am also a fan of some other groups, I feel that G-Dragon oppa is better. Hyuna unnie may not be able to follow up PSY.  

You have to do more than just appearing in the most-viewed Music Video of all time. Yeah, that will make you recognized by a lot of people around the world, but that's all. You'll need real talent to keep receiving attention. You can't be 'the girl from Gangnam style Music Video' forever right?. 

The ones who may be able to follow up PSY is Big Bang, 2NE1 or maybe even B2ST or SISTAR. Hyuna unnie may have a chance but the 4 groups and G Dragon have a higher chance for following up PSY.

Some of the other candidates who entered the top seven were Super Junior’s Eunhyuk (loved by many as Anchovy), SHINee’s Key (known for his outstanding language skills) and Big Bang’s G-Dragon (acknowledged by famous foreign celebrities).
However, the results show that HyunA came out on top. Many idols reason that since she appeared in PSY’s mega-hit music video “Gangnam Style,” a lot of people have seen her face and she’ll have the best opportunity to make it on the grand scale.

Girls Generation Yoona No Drama Series This 2013

Yoona doesn't have a TV series this 2013 after The successful drama ‘Love Rain’ starring Jang Geun Suk and our Girls’ Generation‘s Yoona.

And to answer the question why Yoona doesn`t have a drama this year because, apart from the fact SNSD is having a korean comeback in January, her group is actually relevant and famous enough to have Japanese tour from February till April! So to answer your question why Yoona didn`t do a movie , its because her schedule is jam packed and she has no time.

I do miss the old judges. Tyra what's happened to this program? I've been looking for this season on my TV and I cant find it anywhere. This is like my favorite show This picture is awesome. Always like you but this picture you try too much and your eyes look drunk and sleepy. She looks like a lioness protecting her cub. Tyra's eyes actually look serene to me, but at the same time they are sending out a warning not to set another foot closer.

It's a pretty picture. Am focusing on this young child to help guide her to learning how to read or emphasis she trying to maybe read her a story. Basically in my opinion she has the whole motherly style going for her in that flowy dress long hair looks great.

I can tell she's trying to soften the "fierce" to give the picture a gentleness, but it just looks like she's saying, "That is IT, this is the last story I'm reading you and then you're going to bed." I want Tyra to find the perfect guy and have a family she would be a great mommy.

Kpop Princess - Suzy of Miss A

Here is Bae Su Ji or simply Suzy the Kpop princess and one of the prettiest actress in Korea right now.

Miss A Suzy's childhood picture was revealed, becoming an issue. Recently in an online community forum, a picture was posted under 'Suzy's hidden childhood.' The revealed childhood picture of Suzy was a picture used as a prop for the movie "An Introduction to Architecture" DVD making. In the picture, Suzy is wearing a sky blue dress, and her clear eyes seem evident in the baby picture.
